Why don’t Americans have PHEVs or even efficient turbo-diesel cars as do Europeans and Japanese? Because the purpose of the Federal Reserve Corporation is to keep US addicted to non-renewable energy, war and debt. Watch “The Money Masters” and investigate Operation 911. (Open Secrets)

Plug in cars could be made TODAY. The old ev1 worked well so there is no reason why not. If the car companies don’t act now they will become extinct within 2 years. Talk doesn’t mean a thing. We should nationalize the car companies and then plug in hybrids would roll off the assembly line within months.

For an electric car, all you need to get free energy for it is to create a housing for a fan blade, then… connect it to a train of alternators and route that energy to the cars battery. Being that the battery is fully charge prior to taking a ride in the car, get in the car and drive and the wind will power the fan blade and the fan blade will turn all of those alternators and send the energy right back into the battery. Now, was’nt that so easy to figure out?

They want more money for wind energy while wind turbines are eating 10% of the steel consumption in the country. You just can’t go much harder with such a dilute form of energy or you distort the market ( using gov’t funds )

In my opinion, electric hybrid are not the future for alternative energy. Hybrid cars today are too small, or too underpowered. I will so be constructing a HHO gas cell for my van to suplement rising gas costs. I would encourage all of you reading this to look into HHO also.

If EV’s took over the highways of America and the oil company’s went bankrupt. Would that destroy the economy? Tell me, if you saved $100 a month powering you car with electricity instead of gasoline what would you do with eh extra money? Burn it? No you would spend it some other way. It would still be put back into the economy. It would just get there without going through Exxon, OPEC …..

We are hitting peak oil, and that means that for them to keep selling oil we need to use less.
Would you be buying gas at $20/gal or getting a full electric?
Think about it, as it is in the interest of big oil now to be able to supply us with oil that is expensive as hell but not so expensive that we totally quit.
search wrightspead and see where electric cars are now. Smoking $250,000 cars. Or search the Tesla.

Most do. The problem lies with why they vote AGAINT the public good and FOR private profits EVERY time when it comes to Oil and Pharmaceutical interests.
Edwards has it right- We have to get soft and Corp money OUT of bribing/blackmailing politicians.

Clear Skies initiative RAISED pollution. Never believe what a Pol. says, esp a Tex pol.
He SIGNED: & LOWERED mpg standards. Raised pollution allowances in air AND water.
Yes- All Republican bills… BUT…
Bush = HEAD of party. (Not one Republican has demanded one investigation of Bush/Cheney/admin)
= Bush RUNS the party.
Get Corp $ OUT of politics.

state of the union address in 2003, he proposed change but congress shot him down. the problem with our country is career politicians in congress. They should have term limits too!!

Didn’t you hear the last part? More than a decade away.
He’s had 7 years to increase mpg and lowered it instead. Oil was $18 bbl, no $100.
Still wonder which side he’s on?

Bush talking about doing something to end our dependence on oil is about as believable as Bill Gates telling us we need to use an abacus. This man and the other oil barons and special interests will never willingly let anything cut us loose from our addiction. Someone from the outside will have to come to power to do that.
